QUY NHON

Quy Nhon is the capital of Binh Dinh Province and was acknowledged as a city as early as 1898. However, the town has been in existence since the 11th century, in the time of the Kingdom of Champa. In the 15^th century, it also served as the ruling centre of Emperor Le Thanh Ton. Not only was Qui Nhon a site for intense battle, it also was an important US military and naval base. At present, Quy Nhon is a developing port city with a population of more than 260,000 people with plans to build infrastructure that would encourage more tourists to visit. Naturally, fishing is the main industry in Quy Nhon, making it a great source of exceptional seafood.

Nhon Ly Beach

Nhon Ly beach, lying 30 km north east of Quy nhon, still maintains its natural pristine beauty with stretches of white sand and see-through ocean. This place attracts many people to come blend themselves into the spectacular natural scenery, with vast sea, sand dunes and windy islands, as well as to participate in the emotional game like sand sliding, coral diving or simply enjoy fresh seafood.

Visit Nguyen Nga Center

Nguyen Nga is a center providing assistance to people with special needs, helping them acclimatize to their disabilities. It trains them in handicrafts like scarves, bags, bookmarks and other things and then sells the articles as souvenirs. The center was started by Ms Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga who had gained an understanding about the hardships faced by people under such circumstances, when her own sister was seriously injured in an accident. A visit to this place will leave you with a humbling experience and inspire you to face any challenges with a smile just like the students do it here.

Dry Island

Address: Nhon Hai Commune, Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh Province

Dry Island is a giant shield protecting Nhon Hai fishing village. On this island, the sea breeze shoves into the cliffs in all four seasons while white waves excitingly carve into the nearby cliffs, creating cliffs of all shape. From the top of Dry Island, people can capture a paranomic view of entire Quy Nhon City. Snorkelling is a speciality of Dry Island. In addition, you can also enjoy delicious fresh seafood prepared by local people served with spicy-flavored Bau Da wine.

Binh Dinh Museum

This is one of Vietnam's more interesting provincial museums on account of its collection of Cham artefacts - including some beautiful carved pieces. A distressing amount of the Cham collection is piled up randomly outside, exposed to the elements - probably not the safest place for rare artefacts. Other exhibits cover the region's natural history and Binh Dinh's role in Vietnam's communist revolution.

Con Chim Ecological Zone

Address: Phuoc Son Commune, Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh Province

Located in Phuoc Son Commune, this is an oasis between the blue sky, blue water and green mangrove forest. Con Chim Ecological Zone situates in the middle of a vast lagoon in the mangrove forests. Underwater there is a rich and diversified aquatic resource, with high value species such as grouper, snapper, rabbtfish. Above the canopy of mangroves is a shelter of bird populations, endemic and seasonal migratory birds.

Thi Nai Lagoon & Phuong Mai Peninsula

Thi Nai Lagoon has a rich ecosystem with many precious pants, animals and beautiful landscapes. It is the place where natural resources are gifted, and it is a place of biodiversity with rich mangrove ecosystems. To worship the Sea God, local fishermens have built a shrine in the shape of an ancient tower in the lagoon - making the overall scenery to be more vivid. To the east of Thi Nai Lagoon, Phuong Mai Peninsula stands as a giant wall guarding the sea side of Quy Nhon. The peninsula resembles a dragon head whose body streches to the far north. In the south end of the peninsula, there is a sharp dangerous rock mountains where swallow birds come build their nests - incredibly nutritious gifts given to people.

Ghenh Rang Park & Han Mac Tu Tomb

Ghenh Rang is one of the most attractive destinations in Binh Dinh. It has magnificent natural scenery with mountains, forests, beaches and islands that can’t be seen in such a combination anywhere else. The path to Ghenh Rang passes by the modest grave of Han Mac Tu - a respected poet known for his love poems. He was among the leprosy patients aided by French missionaries here before he died at the hospital in 1940.

Ky Co Beach & Eo Gio

Address: Nhon Ly District, Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province

The paradise beach of Ky Co that can be easily reached by a fishing boat or a speed boat from Nhon Ly fishing village. Stunning cliffs in the backdrop, white sand, warm sunlight, clear blue waters and small lagoons that have formed amidst small sea rocks. Eo Gio is another famous attraction of Nhon Ly which welcomes the tourists with tall cliffs, gusty winds and deep blue waters smashing against the bumpy rocks. Eo Gio which derived its name from its saddle shape, is a place for adventure lovers as bathing on this beach interwoven with large rocks and stone pebbles can be challenging.

Cu Lao Xanh

Cu Lao Xanh (Green Isle) or Van Phi Island is located near the Xuan Dai Bay in Nhon Chau Commune in Binh Dinh Province. Covering an area of 365 hectares, Cu Lao Xanh is an invaluable gift that nature has given people in Binh Dinh with endless green space and blue ocean. Seeing sunset on the wharf with small boats on the waves, watching the local acitivities of fishermen in peacefull landscape or exploring pristine rocks with the vastness of sky are the hightlight activities that you can do on this island.

Silver Tower (Banh It Tower)

Address: Phuoc Hiep, Tuy Phuoc District, Binh Dinh Province

In the late 11^th century and early 12^th century, the tower was built on top of a hill lying between two branches of Kon River, Tan An and Ganh Bridge.This is a complex consisting of 4 towers - each with a different style and shade, which looks similar to a sticky rice cake called Banh It. Upon researching on this complex architecture, the French called it Tour d'Argent, which means Silver Tower. In terms of art, of all Cham towers remaining in Vietnam territory, Banh It complex is a unique architecture which is diverse, well-decorated and carries high artistic value.

Gia Vy 2

Gia Vy 2 is where locals head for their banh xeo fix. At the fiery front of house of this casual shop, women work sizzling pans over multiple coal braziers. Banh xeo is a fried savoury pancake topped with green onions, bean sprouts and your choice of meat: shrimp, squid or beef. It’s eaten nem-style, stuffing pieces of the pancake inside a rice paper wrapper along with a motley of lettuce, herbs, shredded mango, sprouts, cucumber and a sweet-sour-salty-hot dipping sauce.

Fish Cake Noodle

Fish cake noodle is considered to be the most famous specialty in this beautiful coastal city. Its broth is made from fish bones and fish heads to create an authentically sweet, pleasant, and unforgettable taste. A local chili sauce that makes the dish even more remarkable should be savored in unison with the fish cakes. Simply stir the chili sauce in but be careful, it can get hot!

Bun Ram My Hanh

Bun ram (small crab noodles) is originated from Chau Truc and known to be a singature dish of Binh Dinh. It has rustic features and typical characteristic of the countryside lagoon. The scret of this dish is the freshness of small crab, the salty taste of rice noodles, the pungent taste of pepper, chilli, the sweet of noodles soup served with raw vegetables combined all together and make such unique flavor of this dish.

Banh Hoi Long Heo

Banh hoi, small rice noodle sheets, is a Binh Dinh speciality prepared from rice. In Quy Nhon, banh hoi is usually served with pig interal organs and a hot porridge bowl. These pieces serving with banh hoi make it become more lucrative with extraordinary sweet flavor.
